WITTGENSTEIN & WITTGENSTEINIANISM/O/US
The aim of this blog is to make and receive short comments on Wittgenstein and Wittgensteinianism and the (possible) conflicts between Wittgensteinian Philosophy and Wittgensteinianism. Another aim is to visualize and explore the limits in time and topic for Wittgenstein's de(con)structive philosophy, build on its solid contributions to philosophia perennis and try to become clear on topics where Wittgenstein's approach is not fully satisfactory and a (de)constructive philosophy must at least complement it.
This blog is written and accepting comments in German, Spanish and English (in this order).
One of the problems contemporary philosophy faces is the anxiety of most academic philosophers to emulate science and that the way philosophy is done has long ago fallen under the spell of industrial quality control criteria just as science regrettably has. It thus seems impossible nowadays to write with total disregard for previous scholarly work. This blog therefor welcomes, at least for the short comments it pretends to give a home here, to simply treat a topic with none or only a minimum of references, trusting that writer and reader know what the item commented is about. I am convinced in any case that most of the time excessive referencing is only a way to hide that what is being presented says little or nothing beyond of that which the references refer to. Which is also a sad consequence of the (professional) need to publish any fart because of the way academics are measured nowadays, a fact that Michael Dummett laments rightly in his preface to Origins of Analytical Philosophy.
That, or maybe a bit longer, is about the size of the comments you may expect here and which are welcome here. More general commentary etc. will follow down the road.
